MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. --
Allegheny College sophomore Elizabeth Lubold (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) concluded the 2024 campaign at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium on Thursday morning.

Lubold, making her first-ever appearance at the NCAA Championships, placed 19th in the javelin. Her first of three attempts was her best, as the second-year thrower cleared 37.57 meters. Lubold's second throw traveled 34.52 meters. She fouled her third try.

The two-time All-Great Lakes Region honoree was only 1.24 meters shy of earning a spot on the All-America Second Team. New to Division III in 2023-24, the U.S Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) now honors individuals who place ninth through 16th with Second-Team All-America accolades.

Lubold qualified for the national championship meet with a personal-record mark of 42.07 meters at the University of Mount Union Last Chance meet on May 15. That throw was ranked 16th in the country heading into the NCAA Championships in Myrtle Beach. Lubold was the first javelin thrower from Allegheny's women's track and field team to advance to nationals since 2012.

SUNY Brockport's Rebecca Heuler won the national title on her sixth and final throw, which measured 47.35 meters.
