SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- For the second week in a row,
Marrin Crist (Gettysburg, Pa./Gettysburg Area) led the Allegheny College women's track and field team with a victory, this time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at Slippery Rock University's Dave Labor Invitational.
In another large meet with nearly 1,100 student-athletes from more than 30 colleges, Crist set another personal record and took home another gold after winning the 5,000-meter race at Oberlin College last week. In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, the junior beat the runner-up from Division II D'Youville University by more than 20 seconds with a PR time of 11:20.69. Her time was an All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) qualifier.
On the track, Allegheny also received top-10 performances from
Logan Wagner (Woodville, Ohio/Oak Harbor) in the 400-meter dash and
Renee Tetlow (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) in the 400-meter hurdles. Tetlow ran the last leg of the 4x400 relay with
Celia Cocca (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora),
Samantha Oakes (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads), and
Ollie Schneider (Baden, Pa./Ambridge), helping the Gators place eighth out of 12 teams.
Elizabeth Lubold (Indiana, Pa./Indiana Area) continued her series of outstanding performances in the javelin. She has finished no worse than third and hit AARTFC marks in all four meets this season. On Saturday, she was third behind two D-II throwers from SRU and Clarion.
Emma Miller (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) set a PR in the hammer throw, placing 14th out of 41 athletes at 39.86 meters. The junior also came in ninth out of 60 in the shot put at 11.21 meters.
First-year jumper
Corinne Inkley (Randolph, N.Y./Randolph Central) added another noteworthy performance in the pole vault. By clearing 3.30 meters, she hit an AARTFC standard for the second week in a row. Inkley was sixth out of 16 pole vaulters and fourth among the D-III competitors in the event.
