STOW, Ohio -- Jenny Beth Brundige (South Fulton, Tenn./South Fulton) led the Allegheny College women's golf team with a runner-up finish at Sunday's John Carroll University Invitational.
Originally scheduled for two rounds, Saturday's action was wiped out by heavy rain. Instead, the Allegheny duo of Brundige and
Josephine Corey (Lakewood, N.Y. Southwestern Central) played 18 holes on Sunday at the Fox Den Golf Club.
Brundige carded the best round by a Gator this season with a 79 (+8). The senior led the entire field with three birdies, including back-to-back birdies on the par-4 16th and par-3 17th. She was only one stroke shy of the individual medalist from the University of Mount Union, Jocelyn Troyer. It marks the second consecutive top-10 finish for Brundige, who placed eighth at Hiram College's Terrier Invitational last week.
Corey finished in a two-way tie for eighth place with an 87 (+16). She was one of only four players with multiple birdies, which came on the par-3 fifth and par-4 10th. Â
