PAC Release

TRAFFORD, Pa. -- After an explosive Sunday sweep of Franciscan University, the Allegheny College baseball team won two of the three weekly awards from the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).

Junior outfielder Tyson Bryant-Dawson (Oakland, Calif./Manvel (Texas)) and first-year catcher Tommy Landsnes (Richmond, Va./Brunswick Academy) were recognized as the PAC's Hitter and Newcomer of the Week, respectively.

Bryant-Dawson batted .667 with a 1.083 slugging percentage during Sunday's rout of the Barons. He batted 3-for-6 with a home run, two RBIs, two stolen bases, and one run scored in an 8-2 win in the opening contest. In the nightcap, the third-year slugger tied a program record for runs scored in a game with five and finished only one hit shy of the team record. He batted 5-for-6 with two doubles, three RBIs, and one stolen base to lead the Gators to a 19-2 win in the late game.

Not to be outdone by his teammate, Landsnes had a breakout series while starting both games at designated hitter. The freshman from Richmond, Virginia, batted .625 with a 1.000 slugging percentage. He paced all Gators with six RBIs and was second only to Bryant-Dawson with five hits in the doubleheader. Landsnes finished 2-for-4 with a double and a triple in the first game, and in the second game, he posted season highs in RBIs (4), hits (3), runs (2), and stolen bases (2).

Allegheny carries a five-game win streak into a non-conference matchup against Pitt-Bradford on Thursday, March 28, at 3:30 p.m. at Robert M. Garbark Field.
