TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Allegheny College senior Brent Herrmann (Canfield, Ohio/Canfield) was recognized for his gutsy performance against the University of Rochester with this week's Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Pitcher of the Week award.

A 2023 All-PAC Honorable Mention, Herrmann tossed the best game of his career to lead the Gators to a 3-0 victory over the Yellowjackets in the series opener at Robert M. Garbark Field. The southpaw twirled a gem, blanking Rochester across nine innings in his first complete-game shutout as a Gator. He allowed only two hits and struck out six on 131 total pitches. Herrmann sat down eight consecutive batters between the second and fifth innings.

Herrmann is the first Gator to throw nine innings in a complete game since the 2019 season, and he's the first to record a nine-inning complete-game shutout since 2015.

Through his first four starts of the year, Herrmann is 2-0 with a 2.73 earned-run average and 20 strikeouts in 26.1 innings.

Allegheny's midweek matchup at Hilbert College, originally scheduled for Wednesday, March 20, has been postponed due to weather. The Gators will return to action on Saturday, March 23, with a doubleheader at Franciscan University at 1:00 p.m.
