OBERLIN, Ohio -- The Allegheny College women's indoor track and field team set 10 personal records and recorded a trio of first-place performances on Friday at Oberlin College's Dan Kinsey Invitational.
The Gators did well in the sprints, highlighted by a pair of second-place finishes by
Zoe Romanowski (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) and
Renee Tetlow (Geneva, Ohio/Geneva) in the 200- and 400-meter dashes, respectively. However, all three of Allegheny's wins were earned in the field events.
First-year pole vaulter
Corinne Inkley (Randolph, N.Y./Randolph Central) cleared 3.20 meters and secured her second win in her fourth collegiate competition. Fellow freshman
AB Snyder (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) also took home a gold medal as the only athlete to participate in the triple jump.
Junior throw
Laila Davis (Springfield, N.J./Jonathan Dayton) finished top-two in both the shot put and the weight throw. Her mark of 11.82 meters in the shot put was not only a season-best but also an All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) qualifier. It's the second time in the last three weeks that Davis has won the shot put event. She was second in the weight throw, but her mark of 14.39 meters was a new personal record.
