CLEVELAND -- In the final prep before the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Indoor Championships, the Allegheny College men's track and field team competed in Case Western Reserve University's Ed Finnigan Greater Cleveland Colleges Invite on Friday.

Standout multi-event athlete Aaron Moon (Springfield, Va./Lake Braddock) earned another individual victory to lead the way for the Gators. After breaking a 31-year-old program record in the long jump last time out at SUNY Brockport, the junior transfer cleared 6.78 meters on his fourth attempt to win the event on Friday. 

First-year sprinters Jayden Thorpe (Fayetteville, N.C./North Hardin (Ky.)) and Austin Stewart (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) paced the Gators in the 60- and 200-meter races, respectively. In only his second collegiate meet, Thorpe qualified for the 60-meter finals by placing sixth in the prelims at 7.16 seconds. He narrowly beat that time in the finals with a new personal record of 7.15 seconds and took fifth place.

Stewart, Thorpe, and Moon led a group of eight Allegheny runners in the 200-meter dash. Stewart placed eighth with a time of 23.24 seconds, followed by Thorpe in 10th at 23.45 seconds and Moon in 13th at 23.53 seconds.

Another freshman, Trenton Heasley (Zelienople, Pa./PA Cyber), represented the Gators in both the shot put and weight throw. His mark of 12.94 meters in the weight throw was a personal record, as he added 1.27 meters onto his previous best from the Fighting Scots Invitational on January 20.
