PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Six members of the Allegheny College football team were recognized with All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) honors following the conclusion of the 2024 season, as announced by the conference on Thursday night.
Offensive lineman
Carson Messemer (Schenectady, N.Y./Schalmont), receiver
Chris Gisewhite (Corpus Christi, Texas/Flour Bluff), defensive end
Josh Salisbury (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane), linebacker
Coltin Colucci (Brewster, Ohio/Fairless), safety
Vital Joseph II (Humble, Texas/Summer Creek), and punter
Trevor Brncic (Export, Pa./Franklin Regional) were each named All-PAC Honorable Mentions for their performance on the gridiron this fall.
A two-time All-PAC Honorable Mention, Messemer started all 10 games at center during his senior season. A mainstay on the offensive line throughout his career, Messemer started all but one of the 40 games he played at Allegheny while lining up at center and tackle. Earlier this fall, he was named a William V. Campbell Trophy semifinalist.
In addition to his All-PAC award, Messemer was included on the PAC Sportsmanship Team. The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior, and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams and student-athletes.
Gisewhite led Allegheny's receiving corps in his first season with the team. The junior transfer from Sul Ross State University finished with team highs in receptions (49), receiving yards (587), and touchdown catches (4). Gisewhite surpassed 100 yards against Geneva College on October 19 and nationally ranked Carnegie Mellon University on November 9. He also paced the Gators with 32 kick returns for 606 yards.
Salisbury earned his first All-PAC accolade in his second season as a starting defensive end. The 6-foot-2, 250-pound lineman ended the year with 19 total tackles, including 1.5 tackles for a loss. He also blocked a punt against Waynesburg University on October 19 that resulted in an Allegheny touchdown on the return. After moving from tight end to defensive end, Salisbury amassed 40 tackles with 5.5 tackles for a loss, four sacks, and one interception.
Colucci proved to be not only one of the biggest defensive playmakers on the team but in the entire PAC in 2024. Another transfer student-athlete out of Seton Hill University, the junior linebacker finished third in the conference in total tackles (97) and tied for fourth in sacks (7.0). Colucci scored two touchdowns this season, one on the aforementioned blocked punt by Salisbury and another on a 12-yard fumble return against Saint Vincent College on September 14.
A three-year starting defensive back, Joseph accumulated 62 total tackles, a single-season career-high, while finishing third on the team this fall. The Texas native also recorded a career-best three interceptions. His biggest interception of the year came in the fourth quarter of the opener at Bethany College, which helped seal a 20-14 victory over the Bison.
Brncic earned All-PAC Honorable Mention status as a punter in his final season with the Gators. A three-year starting punter, he averaged 35.2 yards per kick with 12 punts downed inside the opponent's 20-yard line. His longest punts of the year were a 60-yarder against Westminster College and a career-best 62-yard punt against Geneva. Brncic also passed for a career-high 1,551 yards as Allegheny's starting quarterback.
