NORTH EAST, Pa. -- Josephine Corey (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern Central) paced the Allegheny College women's golf team with an 11th-place finish at the Evann Parker Memorial, hosted by Division I Mercyhurst University at the Lake View Golf Club in North East, Pennsylvania.

The one-day event featured Division I golfers from tournament host Mercyhurst and Youngstown State University, as well as a plethora of Division II student-athletes from around the region.

Allegheny was the only Division III team to place in the standings, as the Gators were fifth with a 363 (+75). Allegheny was only three strokes behind fourth-place Seton Hill University (360, +72) and six shy of third-place PennWest California (357, +69). The Lakers from Mercyhurst won the team portion of the event with a cumulative 332 (+44).

Individually, Corey carded an 87 (+15) and finished in 11th place. She birdied the par-4 11th, which helped the junior on a strong note on the back nine.

Senior Elisa Gomez (La Mirada, Calif./St. Joseph) and first year Ada Coté (West Henrietta, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta) were two of the four golfers who tied for 16th place with a 91 (+19). Gomez led all Gators with two birdies, both of which came on the back nine.

First year Kessler Potter (Kents Store, Va./Fluvanna County), who recorded four pars, fired a 94 (+22) and placed 23rd out of the 34-woman field.

The Blue and Gold will compete in the fall portion of the 2024-25 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships on Monday, October 14, and Tuesday, October 15. Both rounds will be held at the Squaw Creek Golf Club in Vienna, Ohio.
