GETTYSBURG, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's cross country team recorded two personal records and finished 13th overall at Gettysburg University's Aubrey Shenk Invitational on Saturday morning.
The Gators finished 13th, but were the ninth-best Division III program at the meet, which included two running clubs and two Division I programs. Allegheny earned 310 points and finished ahead of teams from Stevenson University (346) in 14th place and 15th-place St. Mary's College (Md.) (405). The Blue and Gold also beat the only other Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) team at the race, as Waynesburg University placed 18th (535).
As he's done all season, junior
Caleb Freemann (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth) was the first Gator to the finish line. He was 17th out of 226 total runners, but was the eighth-quickest D-III runner with a time of 26:14.4. Freeman nearly matched his eight-kilometer PR from last year's Aubrey Shenk Invitational, but was only five seconds behind.
In 69th place, senior
Desmond Corrado (Crafton, Pa./Carlynton) set a new personal record. His time of 27:23.6 was 10 seconds faster than his previous best of 27:33.6 from the 2021 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships. Freshman
Niko Moore (Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area) also PR'd, beating his time from the Ohio Wesleyan University Invitational on October 4 by 25 seconds.
