GRANVILLE, Ohio -- Three from the Allegheny College women's golf team opened the 2023-24 season by playing two rounds at the annual Lynn Schweizer Invitational, hosted by Denison University at the Denison Golf Club on Saturday and Sunday.
Jenny Beth Brundige (South Fulton, Tenn./South Fulton),
Josephine Corey (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern Central), and
Elisa Gomez (La Mirada, Calif./St. Joseph) each played 36 holes over the weekend while representing the Blue and Gold in the tournament.
Leading the way for the Gators was Brundige, who carded an 85 (+12) during the par-73 opening round and a 90 (+18) in the par-72 second round for a two-day total of 175 (+30). The senior placed 64th in a competitive field that included golfers from No. 2 Washington University in St. Louis, No. 3 Emory University, No. 10 Methodist University, No. 13 Centre College, and the hosts, No. 17-ranked Denison.
Two strokes behind Brundige was Corey at 177 (+32) in 67th place, while Gomez tied for 71st at 189 (+44).
