MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's golf team hosted the 50th annual Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Memorial Invitational at the Country Club of Meadville on Sunday and Monday.

Overcast skies and a little rainfall during the first round didn't prevent the Gators from completing all 36 holes over the two-day event on their home course. 

Josephine Corey (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern Central) led the way for Allegheny in 23rd place. She shaved four strokes off her first-round score and carded an 81 (+10) in the second round, equaling a cumulative 166. Corey birdied one hole during each round, one on the par-5 ninth on Sunday and the other on the par-4 11th on Monday.

Like Corey, Jenny Beth Brundige (South Fulton, Tenn./South Fulton) improved by two strokes on Monday. After posting an 86 (+15) on the first 18 holes, she carded an 84 (+13) during the final round. She finished strong on the back nine on Monday. After a birdie on the 10th, she ended just 4-over on the last nine holes. Brundige tied for 26th out of 51 competitors.

Elisa Gomez (La Mirada, Calif./St. Joseph), who tied for 30th place, led all Gators with four birdies. On Sunday, she birdied the first, second, and fifth holes before adding one more on the par-4 16th on Monday.

Without four counting scores on both days, the Gators did not post a team score. The team championship came down to a tiebreaker, as Wittenberg University and Carnegie Mellon University were tied atop the leaderboard with total scores of 602. However, the Tartans took home the trophy after winning the head-to-head tiebreaker.
