GAMBIER, Ohio -- Allegheny College men's tennis spent the weekend at the Kenyon College Invitational, hosted by the Owls on Saturday and Sunday.

The Gators received 30 matches against opponents such as the defending Division III national champions from Case Western Reserve University, Denison University, which ended last season ranked 15th nationally, John Carroll University, Oberlin College, Otterbein University, and the College of Wooster.

Anton Hedlund (Hovas, Sweden/Katrinelundsgymnasiet) faced the toughest opponents of any Gator at the tournament. His singles matches came against CWRU's Casey Hishinuma, who won 26 matches for the national champion Spartans in 2022-23, and Jacob Patterson, ranked the 14th-best singles player in the Central Region last year. Two of Hedlund's four doubles matches also paired him against Case Western Reserve tandems. He and David Rodriguez (St. Ann's, Trinidad and Tobago/Fatima College) earned one victory as they took down Oberlin's duo of Max Fickas and Neil Ruddy, 6-1.

Freshman Reid Stasolla (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) ended the weekend with a 4-1 record. He beat Otterbein's Colton Stamper and Oberlin's Tory Johansson in straight sets in head-to-head competition. Alongside doubles teammate Evan Nelson (Scituate, Mass./Scituate), Stasolla earned additional wins over teams from Oberlin and Wooster.
