ITHACA, N.Y. -- Allegheny College women's golf wrapped up action at the Ithaca College Invitational, hosted by the Bombers at the RaNic Club, with the second round on Sunday afternoon.
Two Gators placed inside the top 20 on the individual leaderboard, and all three Allegheny student-athletes were among the top 25 in the 40-woman field.Â
Elisa Gomez (La Mirada, Calif./St. Joseph) and
Jenny Beth Brundige (South Fulton, Tenn./South Fulton) were separated by just one stroke, and both were tied in the standings with a fellow Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent from Westminster College. Gomez was tied for 15th with Westminster's Morgan Byers with a 36-hole score of 170 (+26). Brundige and Westminster's Olivia Kana shared scores of 171 (+27) and tied for 17th place.
Gomez and Brundige both found success on the back nine at RaNic. On Sunday, Gomez was just 3-over par and parred six holes on the back nine. During Saturday's opening round, Brundige was 4-over on the last nine holes, including seven pars.
Josephine Corey (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern Central) was in a three-way tie for 24th place after carding a two-day score of 176 (+32). Corey was the only Gator to record a birdie over the weekend, which came on the par-4 ninth on Saturday.
