PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- The Allegheny College women's golf team was picked third in the 2023-24 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference office on Monday morning.
Westminster College finished in first place with 81 total points in the poll. Washington and Jefferson College was second with 68 points, and the Gators were not far behind with 62 points.
The ranking matches Allegheny's performance during last year's PAC Championships, as the Gators placed third out of the seven teams who completed all four rounds in the fall and spring portion of the tournament.Â
A pair of All-PAC Second Team selections represented Allegheny on the PAC's Players to Watch List.
Elisa Gomez (La Mirada, Calif./St. Joseph)Â and
Jenny Beth Brundige (South Fulton, Tenn./South Fulton) placed sixth and 10th, respectively, with cumulative scores of 347 and 362 across 72 holes. Second-year golfer
Josephine Corey (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern Central), who missed out on All-PAC honors by one place during her debut season, was also included on the watch list.
The Gators begin the fall portion of the 2023-24 campaign on Saturday, September 2, and Sunday, September 3, at the Lynn Schweizer Invitational, hosted by Denison University.Â
