AVCA Release

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- The Allegheny College women's volleyball program was honored by the United States Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) with a 2023 Team Academic Award for their performance in the classroom this past year.
 
The Gator volleyball program maintained an average team GPA of 3.5 during the 2022-23 academic year. This marks the fourth consecutive year Allegheny earned the award and program's seventh all-time distinction.
 
Beginning in 1992-93, this award honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.30 on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 on a 5.0 scale. A total of 1,343 college and high school teams, including 229 NCAA Division III programs, earned a USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award in 2022-23.
