PAC Release
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Two members of the Allegheny College men's track and field team collected weekly awards from the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) for the week ending April 16.
Stephen Cullinan (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) and
Jacob Boord (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) were named the PAC's Track Athlete and Field Athlete of the Week, respectively, for their respective performances at Bucknell University's Bison Outdoor Classic this past weekend.
As the only Division III student-athlete in the orange decathlon, Cullinan logged a personal record with 6,122 points. He became just the second Gator in program history to surpass 6,000 points, and now ranks 12th in Division III this season. Cullinan produced PRs in all of the track events, including the 100-meter dash (11.52 seconds), the 400-meter dash (51.41 seconds), the 110-meter hurdles (17.53 seconds), and the 1,500-meter mid-distance race (4:44.93).
In the javelin throw, Boord increased his program record distance to 64.71 meters, besting his previous record throw of 62.72 meters from earlier this year. The mark earned him a fourth-place finish at the event in a field of Division I and II talents. Nationally, Boord now sits fourth in Division III.
Allegheny track and field is back in action on Saturday, April 22, at the 53rd Sparky Adams Invitational, hosted by Baldwin Wallace University.
