Bryant-Dawson Earns PAC Hitter of the Week Award

PAC Release

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. --
Allegheny College's Tyson Bryant-Dawson (Oakland, Calif./Manvel (Texas)) received his first weekly award from the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) on Tuesday, as the slugging outfielder was crowned the PAC Hitter of the Week.

Bryant-Dawson led Allegheny to three wins in four games last week while tearing the cover off the ball. The second-year outfielder slashed .643/.706/1.071 with a team-high nine hits in 14 at-bats. He finished with at least one hit in all four contests, including a pair of three-hit performances. Bryant-Dawson also drove in a team-leading five runs while scoring three of his own.

In the series opener against Houghton University on April 6, Bryant-Dawson finished 3-for-3 with a season-high five RBIs. Two of his three hits went for extra bases, highlighted by a lead-off home run in the bottom of the first inning. The California native went 1-for-3 in the nightcap against the Highlanders, helping the Gators sweep Houghton by scores of 12-1 and 4-2.

On Saturday at Grove City College, Bryant-Dawson combined for five hits, including a triple in the 7-6 series-opening victory over the Wolverines. He produced three hits and two stolen bases in the late game against Grove City to cap off his award-winning week.

Thanks to a recent surge at the plate, Bryant-Dawson has upped his batting average to .320. He leads all Gators in hits (24), home runs (4), RBIs (19), and stolen bases (12) while starting all 21 games this spring.

The Gators return home today at 4:00 p.m. for a non-conference matchup against La Roche University.
