ALLIANCE, Ohio – The Allegheny women's golf team tied for third, as
Elisa Gomez (La Mirada, Calif./St. Joseph) finished second overall, at the Mount Union Spring Invite Sunday (March 26).
The event was originally scheduled for two rounds but was changed to one due to weather on Saturday (March 25).
As a team, the Gators carded a one round score of 354 to tie for third. Wooster won the team title with a score of 336.
Individually, Gomez led the Gators. Tallying an 18 hole score of 79, the sophomore finished as the runner-up by one stroke to Jocelyn Troyer of Division II Malone.
Kelsi Zik (Murrysville, Pa./Plum) had the second best score for the Gators, taking 13th with a score of 86.
Jenny Beth Brundige (South Fulton, Tenn./South Fulton) finished in a tie for 17th with a score of 88 while
Sarah Pillittieri (Jamestown, N.Y./Jamestown) finished in a tie for 37th with a 101.
