GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Allegheny College men's cross country team had four student-athletes receive All-Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) accolades and one runner recognized for outstanding sportsmanship in 2023.
The top seven finishers at the PAC Championship race receive All-PAC First Team recognition, while runners finishing eighth through 14th earn All-PAC Second Team honors. Runners finishing 15th through 21st are named honorable mentions.
A three-time award winner,Â
Peter Lantz (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) was Allegheny's top finisher at the PAC Championships. After earning a spot on the 2021 All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) and 2022 All-PAC Second Teams, Lantz broke through for first-team honors as a senior. He placed sixth with a time of 26:23.84, which was approximately 31 seconds off the pace of the individual winner from Geneva College.

Caleb Freeman (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth) collected All-PAC Second Team honors. He was joined on the second team by first-year runnerÂ
Sam Hetrick (Meadville, Pa./Saegertown), as the duo placed 12th and 14th, respectively.

Colm Mulligan (Chestnut Hill, Mass./Brookline), who was tabbed the PAC Runner of the Week in mid-September, earned All-PAC Honorable Mention status after finishing the eight-kilometer race in 19th place.Â

Joe McAuliffe (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson) was included on the 2023 PAC Men's Cross Country Sportsmanship Team. The PAC Sportsmanship Teams were established to recognize student-athletes who have distinguished themselves through demonstrated acts of sportsmanship and ethical behavior, and are an ongoing effort to recognize and encourage positive sportsmanship among all PAC teams and student-athletes.
As a team, the Gators finished third at the 2023 PAC Championships, hosted by Thiel College at the Greenville Airport. Allegheny amassed 76 points, just five shy of second-place Washington and Jefferson College, and held a 13-point advantage over fourth-place Grove City College.
