NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- After leading the Allegheny College men's basketball team to a pair of wins last week,
Luke Barker (New Castle, Pa./Struthers (Ohio) was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Player of the Week.
Barker averaged a team-high 22.0 points with 6.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game in an 88-84 conference win over Bethany College and a 73-67 non-conference victory against Penn State Behrend.
In Tuesday's home-opening win against the Bison at the David V. Wise Center, Barker exploded for a career-high 34 points. He shot 63.2% from the field with a season-high five 3-pointers. Barker also recorded four rebounds, four assists, and two steals in the PAC win over Bethany. On Saturday, the third-year guard helped the Gators end Penn State Behrend's undefeated start by scoring 10 points with a season-high eight rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
The PAC Player of the Week award is the second of Barker's career.
Barker and the Allegheny men's basketball team return to action on Wednesday, November 29, when the Gators travel to Thiel College for a 7:30 p.m. matchup.
