GREENVILLE, Pa. -- Allegheny College men's cross country recorded a third-place performance at the 2023 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships on Saturday at the Greenville Airport.

Although the preseason coaches' poll predicted the Gators as the favorite, Allegheny turned in a bronze-medal finish with 76 total points. Saint Vincent College was crowned the 2023 PAC champion with 56 points, followed by Washington and Jefferson College with 71.

All five counting runners placed among the top 25 out of 114 total runners across the conference. Out of those five, four Gators received All-PAC awards.

After earning second-team honors in each of the last two seasons, senior Peter Lantz (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) secured a spot on the All-PAC First Team on Saturday. Lantz paced all Gators with a sixth-place effort. His time of 26:23.84 was about 31 seconds off the pace of the individual winner from Geneva College.

Caleb Freeman (Killingworth, Conn./Haddam-Killingworth) and rookie Sam Hetrick (Meadville, Pa./Saegertown) both ended up on the All-PAC Second Team. Freeman came in 12th place with a time of 26:43.73, while Hetrick was 14th overall with a time of 26:52.80.

An All-PAC Honorable Mention selection, senior Colm Mulligan (Chestnut Hill, Mass./Brookline) navigated the eight-kilometer course around the Greenville Airport in 27:11.39, which was good enough for 19th place.
