OBERLIN, Ohio – The Allegheny track and field teams competed at the Oberlin Spring Opener Saturday (April 2).
 
On the women's side, Mihaela Toader (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) won the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.14 seconds. Melina Mangino (New Castle, Pa./Shenango) was victorious in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:14.25. Celia Cocca (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) picked up the victory in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:24.91.
 
The 4x100 relay team of Emma Anderson (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton), Eva Martino (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional), Julieta Schworm (Newark, Ohio/Liking Valley) and Toader won with a time of 50.68.
 
On the men's side, Joe McAuliffe (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson) won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:01.26. Jacob Boord (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) was victorious in the javelin toss with a distance of 54.80 meters.
 
Allegheny returns to action April 8-9 at the John Homon Open hosted by Mount Union.
