SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – The Allegheny track and field teams concluded competition at the 2022 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships Saturday (Feb. 26).
 
Men
 
Overall, the Gator men finished in eighth place, earning 47 points.
 
Logan Meyer (Mount Vernon, Pa./Mount Vernon) was the runner-up in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 14:59.82, earning All-NCAC Honors. Meyer followed up with another runner-up finish in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 8:29.50 to earn his second All-NCAC honor of the event.
 
Tylir Shannon (Transfer, Pa./Reynolds) was the runner-up in the 200 meter dash, earning All-NCAC honors with a time of 22.36. Shannon also placed fourth in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.11. Anthony Steinpreis (Tempe, Ariz./Marcos De Niza) took seventh in the event with a time of 7.20.
 
The 4x200 team of Shannon, Nick Murawski (Grove City, Pa./Grove City), Holden Ford (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) and Steinpreis earned All-NCAC honors as they were the runner-up with a time of 1:30.19. That time established a new all-time mark in the Allegheny record book.
 
The 4x400 team of Shannon, Joe McAuliffe (Massillon, Ohio/Jackson), Kevin Long (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) and Murawski finished sixth with a time of 3:29.34.
 
Colm Mulligan (Chestnut Hill, Mass./Brookline), Long, McAuliffe and Meyer finished eighth in the distance medley relay with a time of 10:48.75.
 
Ford also scored points for the Gators as he placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 6.49 meters.
 
Women
 
Overall, the Gator women finished in seventh place, earning 58 points.
 
Mihaela Toader (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) earned All-NCAC honors in the 400 meter dash. With a time of 1:01.44, Toader finished the race in third. Emma Anderson (Rochester, N.Y./Brighton) finished the race in fifth with a time of 1:02.22. Toader also finished sixth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.65, while also placing sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 10.38 meters.
 
The 4x200 relay team of Toader, E. Anderson, Eva Martino (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) and Julieta Schworm (Newark, Ohio/Licking Valley) finished fourth, clocking in at 1:46.51. That time marked the fastest 4x200 time for the Gators in at least a decade.
 
The 4x400 team of Toader, E. Anderson, Schworm and Celia Cocca (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) earned All-NCAC honors as they placed third with a time of 4:08.30.
 
Stafford, Schworm, Cocca and Sarah Maue (Tamaqua, Pa./Tamaqua Area) earned All-NCAC honors in the distance medley relay. The quartet finished the race in 12:45.41 to place third.
 
Eva Kerr (Fredericksburg, Va./James Monroe) placed sixth in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 18:53.64. Kerr also took fifth in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 10:43.54.
 
Nelly Stafford (Middletown, Md./Middletown) placed sixth in the one mile run with a time of 5:22.43 while Maue took seventh with a time of 5:22.88.
 
Cocca and Stafford finished seventh and eighth in the 800 meter run with times of 2:22.97 and 2:29.64, respectively.
 
Lydia Giannini placed fourth in the weight throw with a heave of 15.64 meters. In the shot put, Emma Miller (Elyria, Ohio/Lake Ridge Academy) finished sixth with a toss of 11.43 meters while Giannini was just behind Miller in seventh with a throw of 11.40 meters.
