NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Emily Lauer (Knox, Pa./Keystone) of the Allegheny women's basketball team was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Player of the Week while
Jess Bickart (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) was named the PAC Rookie of the Week for their performances in a pair of conference wins last week.
For the week, Lauer averaged 28.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 3.0 steals per game.
In a 84-77 win at home against Geneva to start the week, Lauer netted a career-high 25 points with seven rebounds, four steals and four assists. She followed up that performance with another career-high point total against Thiel. In the 74-53 victory, Lauer dropped a new career-high 32 points on top of nine rebounds, three assists and two steals.
This season, Lauer leads the Gators averaging 19.3 points per game, which ranks second in the PAC, while shooting 53.7% (72-of-134) from the floor.
Bickart averaged 11.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game this past week. This marks the second time in which she has received the honor this season and the third straight week a Gator has been named the PAC Rookie of the Week.
Against Geneva, Bickart put up 15 points with nine rebounds, three steals and two assists. She then scored eight points with three assists and two rebounds in the win against Thiel.
On the season, Bickart is averaging 8.3 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.
The Gators are back in action Wednesday (Dec. 7) when they travel to Washington and Jefferson for a 6 pm PAC game.
