NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Allegheny men's basketball team swept the weekly Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) awards as
Luke Barker (New Castle, Pa./Struthers (Ohio))) was named the Player of the Week while
Ryan Lang (Sarver, Pa./Knoch) was named the Rookie of the Week.
Barker averaged 24.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game in a pair of PAC victories last week.
In the team's 90-84 home victory against Washington and Jefferson, Barker led the Gators with a career-high 32 points while completing a double-double with 10 rebounds. During the game, Barker hit seven three-pointers, which tied him for the second most in a single game in Allegheny history. In the 78-67 road win at Saint Vincent, Barker tallied 16 points and six rebounds.
Lang averaged 20.5 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game this past week.
Against the Presidents, Lang tallied 22 points on seven-of-13 shooting, including hitting four three-pointers. He also had three rebounds and a pair of assists. At Saint Vincent, Lang led the Gators with 19 points while grabbing three rebounds and assisting on two more baskets.
The Gators are back in action Dec. 21 when they host Penn State Shenango in a noon nonconference game.
