BOWLING GREEN, Ohio -- Mihaela Toader (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) was the only Division III student-athlete at the Tom Wright Open, hosted by Bowling Green State University on Saturday afternoon, as the Allegheny College senior represented the Gators in three events.
Toader ran the 60-, 200-, and 400-meter dashes against Division I sprinters from Bowling Green, Ball State, and Cleveland State.
Although she didn't qualify for the 60-meter finals, Toader set a new personal record in the prelims with a time of 8.15 seconds. She then finished sixth out of 16 runners by running the 200-meter race in 26.23 seconds.
Toader's best finish was in the longest race of the day. The reigning North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) outdoor 400 champion was the runner-up in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:00.24. The only runner ahead of Toader was Bowling Green senior and former All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) honoree, Jemeila Hunter (58.79 seconds).
