HOLLAND, Mich. -- The Allegheny College men's cross country team wrapped up its fall campaign with a 19th-place finish at the 2022 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships, hosted by Hope College at the Three Fires Golf Club on Saturday.
Leading the way for Allegheny was
Sean Heintzleman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Winchester Thurston), who was 75th out of 272 individuals with a new eight-kilometer personal record. Heintzleman was clocked at 25:33.5, which was 33.5 seconds quicker than his fourth-place effort at the 2022 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championships on October 29.
Peter Lantz (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) was the second Gator to the finish line. The junior made significant strides this season, improving from a 244th-place performance at the 2021 Great Lakes Regional by placing 94th this year with a PR time of 25:54.4.Â
As a team, the Gators amassed 584 points. John Carroll University, which placed all five scoring runners inside the top 20, won the regional title with 48 points.
