MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Friday's dual meet between Allegheny College and Saint Vincent College was close, but the Gators won the final three events of the evening at the Mellon Pool to secure a 133-120 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over the Bearcats.

Heading into the 100-yard butterfly, Saint Vincent (1-1, 0-1 PAC) clung to a one-point advantage over the Gators (2-1, 2-1 PAC), 101-100. In each of the remaining three events, Saint Vincent had more participants, which gave the visitors more opportunities to earn points to close out the win. Fortunately for the Allegheny faithful cheering from the bleachers, the Gators won the 100-yard butterfly, the 400-yard individual medley, and the 200-yard freestyle relay to grab and maintain the late lead.

Pierre Jaeggi (Fountain Valley, Calif./Valiant Prep) and teammate Emmett Manning (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel) were neck and neck in the 100 butterfly, as the pair finished one-two with just 26-hundredths of a second between them. Daniel Jackson (Warwick, N.Y./Warwick Valley) followed by winning the 400-yard individual medley with a time of 4:25.00. In the final event, the freestyle relay team of Emmet Fluharty (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland Heights), Jacob Anderson (Jamestown, N.Y./Jamestown), Dylan Hlavenka (Gibsonia, Pa./Deer Lakes), and Manning bested Saint Vincent's quartet of Jacob Dzurica, Hayden Klein, Alex Leskovansky, and Kris Smith by 1.95 seconds.

In total, the Gators were victorious in 10 of the 14 races. Jaeggi and Jackson each won three individual races to lead all Allegheny swimmers.
