VIENNA, Ohio – The Allegheny women's golf team tied for third place at the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Fall Championships, held Wednesday and Thursday (Oct. 12-13) at the Avalon Golf and Country Club at Squaw Creek.
The PAC Championships are split into two 36-hole events. The Championships will conclude April 21-22 at the Mill Creek Metroparks and the Mill Creek Golf Course in Boardman, Ohio.
The Gators shot a 375 in round one before improving to a 364 in round two, a total of 739. Their score ties them with Thiel for third place. Westminster currently leads with a score of 674 while Washington and Jefferson sits in second with a score of 716.
Elisa Gomez (La Mirada, Calif./St. Joseph) had the top finish for the Gators. After shooting a 93 in round one, Gomez shaved off nine strokes in round two, scoring an 84. Her total of 177 tied for seventh place.
Jenny Beth Brundige (South Fulton, Tenn./South Fulton) had the second best finish for Allegheny. After a round one score of 90, Brundige dropped two strokes to an 88, finishing one stroke behind Gomez with a 178 and placing ninth..
Sarah Pillittieri (Jamestown, N.Y./Jamestown) shot rounds of 95 and 94 to finish in a tie for 14th place with a score of 189.
Josephine Corey (Lakewood, N.Y./Southwestern Central) rounded out the Gators in 20th place with rounds of 97 and 98, totaling 195.
