SPRINGFIELD, Ohio– The Allegheny track and field teams continued the indoor portion of their schedule at the Wittenberg Steemer Showcase Saturday (Jan. 29).

On the men's side, Logan Meyer (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon) had the top individual finish, taking the runner-up spot in the 3000 meter run, clocking in with a time of 8:52.10. Tylir Shannon (Transfer, Pa./Reynolds) carded a top-eight finish as well, placing sixth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 22.84). Also on the track, the 4x200 relay team of Shannon, Nick Murawski (Grove City, Pa./Grove City), Holden Ford (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair), Dietrich Williams (Greenville, Pa./Reynolds) were runners-up with a time of 1:32.37. Williams also had a top-eight performance in the high jump, clearing 1.93 meters to take fifth place.
 
For the women, Celia Cocca (East Aurora, N.Y./East Aurora) and Megan Aaron (Cranberry Twp., Pa./Seneca Valley) had the best individual performances. Cocca had a fourth-place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:25.26 while Aaron was fourth in the 3000 meter run with a time of 10:49.63. On the track, the Gators tallied three other top-eight finishes. In the 800, Nelly Stafford (Middletown, Md./Middletown) finished sixth with a time of 2:25.35. Eva Kerr (Fredericksburg, Va./James Monroe) also earned a sixth-place finish with a time of 10:54.50 in the 3000 run. Mihaela Toader (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mount Lebanon) had an eighth-place finish in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:02.41. In the field portion of the event, Lydia Giannini (Warren, Pa./Eisenhower) took fifth in the shot put with a toss of 14.28 meters.
 
The Gators are back in action Feb. 4 at the Oberlin Invite.
