FLORENCE, Ind. -- The Allegheny men's golf team finished as the runner-up in the Battle at Belterra event, hosted by Hanover Sept. 12-13.

The Gators shot a two-round 602 to place second at the 14 team, 76 golfer event.

After a first round score of 78,
Carter Hassenplug (North East, Pa./ North East) dropped eight strokes in the final round to finish in a tie for seventh-place with a score of 148.Â
Shane Kelley (Glenshaw, Pa./Central Catholic) was second on the team, hitting rounds of 76 and 73 to finish with a score of 149, good for a ninth-place finish.Â
Ryan Dayton (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) and
Tanner Sliker (Edinboro, Pa./Cathedral Prep) tied for 26th with scores of 154.Â
Faaris Cheema (Dubai, UAE/Kings School Al Barsha) rounded out the Gator five with a score of 155, placing in a tie for 31st. As an individual,
Zachary Melzar (Sterling, Mass./Wachussett Regional) finished 43rd with a score of 162,
