GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The Allegheny men's golf team competed in the first round of the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships on Saturday.
After the first round of action, the Gators as a team placed in a tie for sixth place overall with a round one score of 311. Allegheny was led by the top-10 finish of
Matthew Del Rosso (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) who currently ranks in a tie for sixth place. Del Rosso carded a 72 to remain one over par after the first day.
Ryan Dayton (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) also recorded a top-20 finish as he placed in a tie for 16th with a final day one score of 76.
Alex Lawson (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) shot a final score of 81 for the first round.
Shane Kelley (Glenshaw, Pa./Central Catholic) finished one stroke back at 82.
Tanner Sliker (Edinboro, Pa./Cathedral Prep) rounded out the Gators with a final score of 84.
Allegheny will compete in round two of the NCAC Championships on Saturday, May 1 at the Westbrook Country Club in Mansfield, Ohio.
