MEADVILLE, Pa. — In light of the recent surge of COVID-19 cases nationwide, and in order to give the best possible opportunity for conference play to resume next month without disruption, the Allegheny men's basketball team has canceled its remaining nonconference game for the 2021-22 season, originally scheduled for Friday, Dec. 31 against Chatham.

This decision was made by Director of Athletics and Recreation Bill Ross and Allegheny head coach Bob Simmons in consultation with Dr. Gabrielle Morrow and the Allegheny College Health Agency (ACHA). "This was an incredibly difficult decision to make," said Simmons. "However, we feel that this was the best decision for our Men's Basketball Family and our long-term goals of competing within the conference."

The Chatham game will not be rescheduled and the Gators are scheduled to return to the court on Wednesday, Jan. 5 when they travel to Springfield, Ohio and Wittenberg to resume North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) play.
