OBERLIN, Ohio --
Megan Aaron (Cranberry Twp, Pa/Seneca Valley) finished third overall to help the No. 22 Allegheny women's cross country team to a second-place showing at the annual Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble.
In a field that consisted of several nationally and regionally ranked teams, the Gators tallied 139 points and placed second in the 33-team field to No. 17 Carnegie Mellon who totaled 121 points. On the men's side, Allegheny finished 10th of 35 teams.
Aaron timed at 22:11.5 to finish ahead of 299 other competitors in the 302-runner field on the women's side.
Sean Heintzleman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Winchester Thurston) was the top finisher on the men's side, coming in 53rd (scoring 50th) with a time of 27:01.6.
Allegheny will return to action at its final North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships in two weeks, on Saturday, Oct. 30. This year's meet will be held in Springfield, Ohio.
