CLEVELAND, Ohio -- After leading the Gators to a third-place finish at the 2020 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships, Allegheny swimming & diving head coach Max Niggel was named the conference's Women's Swimming Coach of the Year.

The Gators tallied a score of 1,138 at the NCAC Championships, their most at the event since its inception during the 1984-85 season. The third-place finish matches their best placement at the event since the 2011 season.

The 400 free relay team of McClaren Rodriguez (Mason City, Iowa/Mason City), Sadie Brown (Portland, Ore./Pacific Crest Community), Aimee Verardi (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) and Miranda Farley (Cleveland, Ohio/North Royalton) earned All-NCAC honors, placing third with a school record time of 3:32.11.

During the regular season, Niggel led the Gators to an unblemished record. They went 7-0 in duals and captured titles at the Grove City Fall Classic, the Gator Invite and the Oberlin Invite.
