GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The Allegheny men's swimming and diving team continued competition at the 2020 North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) Championships on Thursday (Feb. 13), held at Denison.
After two days of competition, the Gators sit in seventh with 245 points.
The men's 200 free relay team of
Rayshon Knight II (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights),
Pierre Jaeggi (Fountain Valley, Calif./Valiant Prep),
Justin Katchur (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield) and
Karl Stuntzner-Gibson (North Bend, Ore./North Bend) finished seventh with a time of 1:28.48.
Jaeggi earned a spot in the B Finals of the 500 freestyle. The freshman placed 18th overall with a time of 4:48.43. Sophomore
Logan Indest (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) swam in the C Final of the event, finishing 25th overall with a time of 4:57.74.
Three Gators swam in the 200 individual medley finals. Stuntzner-Gibson raced in the B finals, clocking in at 1:57.10 and finishing 13th overall. Katchur and
Jack Van Meter (Altoona, Pa./Southeast Polk) swam in the C Finals, with Katchur placing second in the heat with a time of 1:59.49, good for 20th overall, and Van Meter finishing 23rd overall with a time of 2:00.54.
Knight II represented the Gators in the C Finals of the 50 freestyle, winning the heat with a time of 21.93 to finish 19th overall.
To finish the night, the 400 medley relay team comprised of
Daniel Beck (La Canada, Calif./La Canada), Katchur, Knight II and Stuntzner-Gibson placed fifth, clocking in at 3:31.59.
Day three action gets underway at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 14 with the preliminaries of the 200 medley relay, 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back and men's one-meter diving. The finals in those same events will begin at 6 p.m.
