WOOSTER, Ohio—The Allegheny men's swimming and diving team collected a pair of wins at a North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) tri-meet Saturday (Jan. 18), hosted by Wooster.
The Gators defeated host Wooster by a slim 147-144 margin, and Ohio Wesleyan by a score of 167-112.
For the day, the Gators won five events.
Logan Indest (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) picked up a victory in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:22.92. The junior also placed second in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:23.05 and the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:04.07.
Pierre Jaeggi (Fountain Valley, Calif./Valiant Prep) had similar results to Indest. He won the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:05.14 while also finishing runner-up in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:49.78 and the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:06.50.
Justin Katchur (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield) had his top finishes in the breaststroke as he won the 100 with a time of 59.68 and took second in the 200 with a time of 2:16.15.
Karl Stuntzner-Gibson (North Bend, Ore./North Bend) was victorious in the 100 freestyle with a time of 49.49. The senior also placed third in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:27.77.
Rayshon Knight II (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) finished second in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.54.
The 200 medley relay team of
Daniel Beck (La Canada, Calif./La Canada), Katchur,
Wil Visnic (Weirton, W. Va./Weir) and Knight won with a time of 1:39.28. The 400 freestyle relay team of Jaeggi, Knight II, Katchur and Stuntzner-Gibson also won with a time of 3:17.25.
In the diving portion of the event,
Hunter Pietrzycki (Parma, Ohio/Parma) finished second in the one-meter with a score of 207.9 as well as the three-meter with a score of 171.75.
The Gators will wrap-up the dual portion of their 2019-20 season Saturday (Jan. 25) at home against Fredonia.
