HUNTING VALLEY, Ohio—The Allegheny College men's cross country team started their 2019 season at the Sudeck Classic Stampede 6k, hosted by Case Western Reserve University Saturday (Aug. 31) morning.
The tri-meet featured the Gators, the Spartans and the John Carroll University Blue Streaks.
Host Case Western Reserve won the team event with a score of 25. John Carroll finished second with 36 points while the Gators took third with 85.
The Gators packed well, with a split of just 13.6 seconds between their first and fifth runner.
Tim Weighart (Brookline, Mass./Brookline) led the way for a trio of Gators that placed 27
th-29
th. Weighart crossed the finish line with a time of 20:54.2.
Adam Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) was just behind Weighart as he finished at 20:55.1.
Lukas Dunaway (Pittsburgh, Pa./Serra Catholic) crossed behind Cook as he finished with a time of 20:56.5.
Owen Isham (State College, Pa./State College Area) placed 34
th with a time of 21:04.7, while
Mac Polny (Robinson, Pa./Montour) rounded out the top-five for the Gators in 36
th with a time of 21:04.7.
Ian Pierson of John Carroll won the overall race with a time of 19:19.9.
The Gators are back in action Sept. 14 when they host the Allegheny Classic.
