LATROBE, Pa.— The Allegheny men's swimming and diving team returned to action Friday (Nov. 1) as they traveled to St. Vincent College.
The Gators won the dual 173-114, taking nine events along the way.
Jack Van Meter (Altoona, Iowa/Southeast Polk),
Logan Indest (Columbus, Ohio/Worthington Kilbourne) and
Justin Katchur (Irwin, Pa./Hempfield) all won two races each. Van Meter's wins came in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:06.97 and the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:29.46. He also finished second in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:37.71. Indest was victorious in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 10:31.67 and the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:01.05, while placing second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:03.56. Katchur swept the breaststroke events, winning the 100 with a time of 1:01.00 and the 200 with a time of 2:16.86.
Karl Stuntzner-Gibson (North Bend, Ore./North Bend) finished first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:49.67 while claiming second in the 100 freestyle with a time of 50.37.
Pierre Jaeggi (Fountain Valley, Calif./Valiant Prep) took first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:59.88 and second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:49.94.
Daniel Beck (La Canada, Calif./La Canada) was the runner-up in the 100 backstroke with a time of 57.74 while
Rayshon Knight II (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) was runner-up the 100 butterfly with a time of 54.72.
The 200-yard medley relay team of Beck, Katchur, Knight II and Stuntzner-Gibson finished second with a time of 1:40.94 while the 400 freestyle relay team of
Dalton Lodzins (Anchorage, Alaska/Chugiak), Knight II, Jaeggi and Stuntzner-Gibson also finished second with a time of 1:30.16.
Riley Rizzer (Pittsburgh, Pa./Franklin Regional) won the one-meter dive with a score of 301.60 while
Hunter Pietrzycki (Parma, Ohio/Parma) scored 293.75.
The Gators are back in action next Friday-Saturday (Nov. 8-9) when the host the annual Gator Invite.
