BETHLEHEM, Pa.—The Allegheny men's cross country team competed at the 2019 Paul Short Run 8k, hosted by Lehigh Saturday (Oct. 5).
The Gators finished 31
st as a team, as the event featured 45 teams and 391 individual racers.
Tim Weighart (Brookline, Mass./Brookline) led the way for the Gators as he finished 35
th overall with a time of 25:14.7. The sophomore averaged a pace of 3:09.3 per kilometer. The finish was 141 spots better than his performance at the event last season.
Owen Isham (State College, Pa./State College Area) had the second best finish for the Gators. Crossing the finish line with a time of 25:55.2 (3:14.4 per km), Isham placed 134
th overall.
Logan Meyer (Mount Vernon, Ohio/Mount Vernon) was third for the Gators as he finished 148
th with a time of 26:00.9 (3:15.1 per km).
Adam Cook (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) placed 197
th with a time of 26:18.4 (3:17.3 per km) while
Kevin Long (Downington, Pa./Downington West) rounded out the Allegheny top-five in 305
th with a time of 27:13.2 (3:24.1 per km).
Alex Spiro (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg Area) took 312
th and
Luke Kellett (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) finished 320th to round out the Gator seven.
New Hampshire won the team title with a score of 114. Nicolas Sevilla-Connelly of New Hampshire won the individual title with a time of 24:26.9.
The Gators return to action in two weeks (Oct. 19) when they compete at the Gettysburg Invitational.
