AMHERST, N.Y.— The Allegheny College men's tennis team continued play at the Daemen Tournament Saturday (Sept. 16).
In the French Bracket of doubles,
Mackenzie Knowlton and
Zach Anderson took on Erich Nagel and Calvin Athey of Division-II Millersville University. The Gator team had control throughout the bout and picked up the win 8-3.
In their second round match, Knowlton and Anderson faced Jack Ablon and Alec Dardis of Division-I Colgate, but fell 8-3.
In the Australian Bracket of doubles,
Niall Kneerim and
Jacob Stringer played against Mathew Cruz and Joshua Moore of Division-II Roberts Wesleyan University. The Gators broke early and often as they picked up the win 8-2.
In the second round, Kneerim and Stringer took on Justin Milner and Jose Williamson III of Division-II Daemen. The Gator duo was unable to overcome their counterparts as they fell 8-3.
The doubles team of
Jai Redkar and
Cooper Miller battled against Jacob Daugherty and Scott Bickel of Colgate but fell 8-5 in the Wimbledon Bracket.
In their consolation match, Redkar and Miller faced Ben Lynaugh and Jared Ingoglia of RIT, winning 8-4.
In singles action,
Colton Johnson Taylor defeated Millersville's Jose Alcazar 8-2 in the Orange Bracket consolations.
In the consolations of the Red Bracket, Redkar won an 8-5 match against David Gonzalez of Daemen.
In the second round of the Indigo Bracket,
Jacob Stringer fell to Colgate's Alec Dardis 6-1, 6-0.
In the Blue Bracket,
Mike Siegel downed Andre Freeman of Roberts Wesleyan 8-3.
Miller also found success in singles play, defeating Jacob Meyerson of RIT 8-3 in the Violet Bracket. Also in the Violet Bracket,
Niall Kneerim had a clean 8-0 win over Noah Craddock of Daemen.
