HILTON HEAD, S.C.—The Allegheny College men's tennis team shutout Buena Vista University Wednesday (March 22) in Hilton Head, S.C.
Derek Sawer and Niall
Colton Johnson Taylor collected the first win at second doubles, sweeping Will Connelly and Aaron Mumm 8-0.
Jai Redkar and
Cooper Miller followed up with an 8-5 win against Chris Habermann and Jesse Brace at first doubles. The Gator third double team of
Mike Siegel and
Niall Kneerim won via forfeit.
The Gators were dominate in singles action. Miller swept Mumm 6-0, 6-0 at fourth singles for the first win. Siegel sealed the win with a 6-0, 6-1 victory over Connelly at third singles. Kneerim collected another 6-0, 6-0 sweep for the Gators at fifth singles against Andrew Boell.
Johnson Taylor defeated Brace 6-0, 6-2 at second singles, followed by a first singles win by Redkar against Habermann, 6-4, 6-1, to close the action. Sawer was awarded a win at sixth singles via forfeit.
The Gators are back in action Friday (March 24) against the University of St. Thomas.
