HILTON HEAD, S.C.—The Allegheny College men's tennis team faced Connecticut College at Hilton Head Beach and Tennis Resort Monday (March 20).
The Camels picked up the win, 6-3.
After falling at second and third doubles, the Gators picked up a tight win at first doubles.
Jai Redkar and
Cooper Miller found themselves tied at eight games with Daniel Maffa and Will Cannon. In the tiebreaker, the Gator duo utilized a break early on en route to a 7-3 win.
The Gators also picked up wins at first and second singles. Redkar cruised to a 6-1, 6-2 win over Maffa in first singles action.
At second singles,
Colton Johnson Taylor faced Cannon. Cannon picked up a win in the first set, 6-4. Johnson Taylor bounced back in a big way in set, controlling the momentum to even the match with a 6-2 set win. The momentum Johnson Taylor gained in the second set carried over to the tiebreaker as he bested Cannon 10-5 for the second singles victory.
The Gators are back in action Wednesday (March 22) in Hilton Head to face Beuna Vista University.
