Box Score FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Allegheny College volleyball team closed its season-opening road swing on a sour note, falling to Fredonia State in straight sets (17-25, 25-27, 23-25) this evening in non-conference action.
Allegheny (2-3, 0-0 NCAC) was led offensively by junior middle hitter
Leah Franzluebbers, who registered double-digit kills for the third time in this young season with 10. She hit at a .308 clip for the match and dished out a quartet of aces to pace the Gator attack.

Justine Kelly quarterbacked the offense with 23 assists, while adding eight digs, three kills, and three service aces to her stat line. Classmate
Terra Schall once again commanded the Allegheny back line by collecting 22 digs.
Also in double figures for digs was junior defensive specialist
Kylee Karczewski, who tallied 12 on the evening. Fellow third-year
Karissa Welker came close to giving the Gators three players with double-digits in that category as she registered eight.
The Gators served up nine aces to Fredonia's seven, but committed 19 errors on their swings.
Allegheny returns to the David V. Wise Center this weekend as it is set to host the Gator Invitational. The Gators open up the two-day invitational on Friday, Sept. 9 at 4:00 p.m. against local rival Thiel before taking on D'Youville right after.
