MEADVILLE, Pa. - Allegheny College will host the Fourth Annual Greg Richards '08 Memorial Tip-Off Classic this Friday and Saturday at the David V. Wise Center.

The basketball classic will feature two men's and two women's games each day, as the teams will play in memory of 2008 Allegheny graduate and four-year men's basketball letterwinner Greg Richards, who lost a battle with cancer in February 2012.

Throughout the weekend, donations to the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute will be accepted in honor of Greg, while all ticket proceeds will also go toward the institute which is internationally recognized for its leadership in the prevention, detection, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer.  

In addition to Allegheny, the men's tournament will feature Case Western Reserve University, Adrian College, and Fredonia State University.  The Gator women will welcome Westminster College, Carnegie Mellon University, and Muskingum University.

The tournament's first game, between the Fredonia and Case Western Reserve men, will begin on Friday at 2 p.m.  At 4 p.m., the Carnegie Mellon and Muskingum women will face off, before the Gator men host Adrian at 6 p.m.  The tournament's first day will wrap up with the Gator women taking on Westminster at 8 p.m.

On Saturday, the Adrian and Fredonia men open play at 1 p.m., followed by the Westminster and Muskingum women at 3 p.m.  The Gator men battle Case Western Reserve at 5 p.m., before the Gator women close out the tourney with a 7 p.m. contest against Carnegie Mellon.

At the conclusion of Saturday's Gator women's game, an All-Classic team will be announced.
