GAMBIER, Ohio -- After it was swept in doubles play, the Allegheny men's tennis team rallied to win all but one singles match to claim a 5-4 victory over Wabash in its final match at the Great Lakes Colleges Association Tournament.

Alex Bonfiglio, Mike Provenzano, Max Hennessy, Jacob Allmaras and Jonathan Jordan were singles victors for the Gators; Bonfiglio, Hennessy and Jordan battled to three-set wins.

Down one set, Bonfiglio fought back for a 0-6, 7-6, 6-4 win against Zach Lowry at first singles. Provenzano defeated Peter Gunderman at second singles, 6-1, 7-5, while Hennessy outlasted Ricky Ritter at third singles, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.

In fourth singles action, Allmaras handled Elliott Dewey, 6-2, 6-2. Jordan won the sixth singles match, coming behind for a 2-6, 6-4, 6-1 decision against Lewis Towne.

The Gators will be in action next on Friday when they play a 6 p.m. home match against Ohio Wesleyan.
