MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The NCAA is celebrating its 15th annual Division III Week from Monday, April 6, through Sunday, April 12.
Allegheny College and the Department of Athletics proudly celebrate Division III Week, a positive opportunity to observe and celebrate the impact athletics and student-athletes have on campus and in the surrounding community.
The event is part of Division III's Identity Initiative, introduced in 2010 to sharpen the division's identity and enable schools, conferences, and student-athletes to consistently explain why they prefer to compete in Division III. The initiative is guided by a strategic-positioning platform, describing Division III as a place where student-athletes can "follow your passions and develop your potential" through an approach that combines rigorous academics, competitive athletics, and an opportunity to pursue other interests.
In addition to social media content revolving around Division III Week, the Gators encourage the Allegheny community to celebrate at the following home events:
Wednesday, April 8
- Men's Tennis vs. Westminster - 4:30 p.m.
- Women's Lacrosse vs. Chatham (Faculty & Staff Appreciation) - 6 p.m.
Thursday, April 9
- Women's Tennis vs. PennWest Clarion - 4:30 p.m.
Saturday, April 11
- Men's Tennis vs. Thiel (Senior Day) - 11 a.m.
- Men's Lacrosse vs. Washington & Jefferson (Senior Day) - 1 p.m.
- Baseball vs. Grove City (DH; Senior Day) - 1 p.m.
- Men's Tennis vs. Grove City - 2 p.m.
