PAC Release
TRAFFORD, Pa. -- Following a pair of lopsided wins over the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and Lycoming College, two members of the Allegheny College men's lacrosse team earned weekly awards from the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC).
Attackmen
JP Rakis (Kensington, Md./Walter Johnson) and
Jack Pearl (Ladera Ranch, Calif./JSerra Catholic) were tabbed the PAC's Offensive Player and Newcomer of the Week, respectively, after racking up a combined 31 points in a 13-3 victory against Pitt-Bradford and a 20-4 rout of Lycoming.
Rakis amassed 22 points on seven goals and a team-high 15 assists. He logged a hat trick with five assists in the midweek win against the Panthers. On Saturday, the senior netted four goals with 10 assists to fuel the rout of the Warriors. His 14 points were one shy of his single-game record, and he became the first player in program history to reach 200 points and 100 assists in their career. Rakis also joined rare company as only the second Gator to surpass 100 career goals.
In his second and third collegiate games, Pearl paced the Gators with nine total goals. He had a multi-goal performance with two tallies against Pitt-Bradford before a breakout effort at Lycoming. Pearl tied a team record for goals in a game with seven against the Warriors, including a natural hat trick in the first quarter and a man-up marker in the fourth.
Rakis, Pearl, and the rest of the Gators will reconvene at the Robertson Athletic Complex on Tuesday, March 3, for a 1 p.m. matchup against Concordia University Wisconsin.
