OBERLIN, Ohio --
The Allegheny College women's track and field team picked up one victory and five runner-up performances at Oberlin College's Dan Kinsey Invitational on Friday night.

The Gators excelled in the jumps, as they combined for four top-two finishes in the pole vault, long jump, and triple jump. In the pole vault, junior Corinne Inkley (Randolph, N.Y./Randolph Central) and Baldwin Wallace University's Lucy McChesney both cleared 3.55 meters. However, McChesney did so in two attempts, while Inkley needed three tries, giving the BWU sophomore a tiebreaker victory in the event.

Aubryanna Snyder (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) and Evie Ellenberger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) participated in both the triple jump and long jump. The Gator duo finished one-two in the former, as Snyder won the triple jump at 10.25 meters and Ellenberger took second at 10.16 meters. In the long jump, Ellenberger was the runner-up at 5.26 meters, while Snyder was fourth at 4.87 meters.

First-year sprinter Mariah Helvy-Bruce (Braddock, Pa./Woodland Hills) was the runner-up in the 200-meter dash. She set a personal record at 27.30 seconds, 1.33 seconds shy of the winner from Baldwin Wallace. Helvy-Bruce also impressed in the 60-meter dash, placing third in 8.35 seconds.

In the last event of the night, Angelee Bawek (Goodyear, Ariz./Estrella Foothills) took second in the shot put. Her mark of 11.30 meters was a season-best, 21 centimeters better than her season debut last week at Youngstown State University.
